These guidelines exist for one reason. Human Interest is built on the belief that real community — the kind that leads to genuine connection — only happens when people feel safe, respected, and free to be themselves.

Real Identity

Every member is a real, verified person. We don't do anonymous. Authentic identity is the foundation on which everything else is built.

Genuine Community

We're here to build communities that feel like something — not feeds, not follower counts. Real people, real conversations, real belonging.

Safety First

Nobody should feel unsafe, harassed, or unwelcome here. Safety isn't a feature — it's the precondition for everything else.

The Rules

These guidelines apply to everything you post, share, or do on Human Interest — in channels, in direct messages, in your profile, and in any other part of the platform.

Be Respectful

  • Personal attacks, insults, or name-calling
  • Mocking, belittling, or dismissing other members

  • Deliberately provocative or inflammatory behavior

Be Who You Say You Are

  • Representing yourself honestly in your bio and profile
  • Being transparent about who you are and what you're here for

  • Creating fake or impersonator accounts
  • Using someone else's photos without permission

Keep Interactions Safe

  • Hate speech targeting race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or national origin

  • Content that promotes or glorifies hate groups
  • Stereotyping or generalizing about any group of people

Keep It Appropriate

  • Explicit sexual messages sent without consent
  • Content that sexualizes minors in any way
  • Graphic violence or disturbing imagery

Respect Privacy

  • Asking before sharing someone else's content
  • Respecting when someone declines to share personal information
✕ We do not allow
  • Sharing private information about others without consent (doxxing)
  • Screenshotting and sharing private conversations
  • Collecting or distributing other members' personal data
  • Tracking or monitoring another member's activity

No Unsolicited Promotion

  • Mentioning your work or business when genuinely relevant
  • Sharing content you've created when it adds value to the community
  • Discussing your professional background naturally
✕ We do not allow
  • Posting advertisements or promotional content without approval
  • Sending unsolicited direct messages to promote products or services
  • Recruiting members for other platforms or businesses
  • Affiliate marketing, MLM promotion, or pyramid schemes

Stay Legal

✓ We welcome
  • Sharing original content you own
  • Crediting creators when you share their work
  • Using the platform for lawful purposes only
✕ We do not allow
  • Sharing copyrighted content without permission
  • Facilitating or promoting illegal activities
  • Fraud, scams, or financial deception of any kind
  • Violating any applicable local, state, or federal law

Protect Minors

✓ We welcome
  • Reporting any account that appears to belong to someone under 18
  • Reporting any content that involves or targets minors inappropriately
  • Helping maintain Human Interest as a safe adult community
✕ We do not allow
  • Creating an account if you are under 18
  • Soliciting personal information from anyone who may be a minor
  • Sharing content that involves or sexualizes minors in any way
  • Any grooming behavior or inappropriate contact with young people

Channel Standards

Each channel on Human Interest has its own focus and culture. In addition to these global guidelines, channel hosts may set additional standards specific to their community. Those standards will be posted in the channel description. Members are expected to read and respect them.

What every channel expects

  • Stay on topic for the channel's theme
  • Introduce yourself when you first join
  • Read the channel description before posting
  • Follow host instructions and pinned posts
  • Keep conversations relevant and constructive
  • Welcome new members generously

What gets you removed from a channel

  • Repeatedly posting off-topic content
  • Ignoring host warnings or instructions
  • Creating conflict with other members
  • Using the channel for self-promotion
  • Any violation of global community guidelines

Enforcement

We enforce these guidelines consistently and without favoritism. The actions we take depend on the severity and frequency of the violation.

Level 1 — Warning. First-time minor violations. You'll receive a direct notice explaining what happened and what's expected going forward.
Level 2 — Content Removal. Posts, messages, or profile content that violates guidelines will be removed without notice. Repeated removals will escalate to account action.
Level 3 — Channel Removal. Removal from a specific channel. You retain access to the rest of the platform but lose membership in the channel where the violation occurred.
Level 4 — Temporary Suspension. Serious or repeated violations result in temporary suspension of your full account. Duration depends on severity — typically 3 to 30 days.
Level 5 — Permanent Ban. Severe violations or a pattern of repeated misconduct result in permanent account termination with no right of reinstatement. No refund of any subscription fees.

The following actions result in immediate permanent ban with no warning and no appeal: any content involving the sexualization of minors, threats of physical violence against any person, doxxing, coordinated harassment campaigns targeting a member, and creating a fake account to evade a prior ban.

Appeals

If you believe a moderation action was applied incorrectly, you may appeal within 14 days of receiving notice.

To appeal: Email legal@humaninterestapp.com with the word "Appeal" in the subject line. Include your account name, the action taken, and why you believe it was applied incorrectly. We will review and respond within 7 business days.

Permanent bans issued for child safety violations, threats of violence, or doxxing are not eligible for appeal.

How to Report

Reporting keeps this community safe. It is always confidential — the person you report will never know you reported them.

In the app

Tap the three dots (...) on any post, message, or profile. Select Report. Choose the reason. We review every report.

By email

For urgent or complex situations, contact us at legal@humaninterestapp.com. Include screenshots and as much detail as you can.

Emergencies

If someone is in immediate danger, contact emergency services first. We are not a substitute for law enforcement in urgent situations.

Changes to These Guidelines

We may update these Community Guidelines from time to time as the platform grows and evolves. We will notify members of material changes through the App and by updating the Effective Date above. Your continued use of Human Interest after changes take effect means you accept the updated guidelines.

Human Interest is only as good as its community. These guidelines are how we protect what we're building together. If something ever feels off — report it. We're listening.
